The highly membrane-interactive “HAMLET family” of complexes, formed by alpha-lactalbumin and oleic acid, shows potent tumoricidal activity against a broad range of tumor cells in vitro (Hakansson et al, 1995; Svensson et al, 2000; Svanborg et al, 2003; Ho et al, 2017), and a surprising degree of selectivity for tumor tissue in vivo in several cancer models (Fischer et al, 2004; Puthia et al, 2014; Tran et al, 2020).
