Based on the abovementioned findings and on the fact that IL-6 and CXCL1 play important roles in inflammatory liver injury and in inducing osteoporosis (32, 33), we further hypothesized that targeted inhibition of the 14-3-3η/NF-κB feedback loop could prevent DEHP-induced liver lesions, functional disorders, and HOD. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and hypopigmentation, organomegaly, and delayed myelination and development.
