Exposure to clinically relevant concentrations of sevoflurane induces the upregulation of histone deacetylase 6 through the phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT-) and extracellular regulated protein kinases (ERK1/2-) signaling pathways, thereby promoting the proliferation and metastatic potential of cervical cancer cells (Zhang et al., 2020a). Here, AKT1 is linked to cervical cancer.
