Notably, the overlapping genes were enriched in synaptic plasticity regulation (GO:00 48167, p = 2.0 × 10−3) and included high‐confidence neurodevelopmental risk genes such as Adnp (associated with autism and intellectual disability), Cacna1c (linked to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia), and Dyrk1a (implicated in neuronal proliferation), which are critical for cortical development and synaptic function. This evidence concerns the gene DYRK1A and autism.
