CAFs are the primary source of ECM components, including collagens, fibronectin, and matrix metalloproteinases 7 (MMP7), which create a pro‐invasive microenvironment to drive metastatic dissemination, modulate tumor stiffness, and facilitate tumor progression.[34, 35] Based on ovarian cancer single cell RNA‐seq (scRNA‐seq) data, we observed that the proportion of fibroblasts was significantly higher in Matrix indexHigh or COL1A1High group than in Matrix indexLow or COL1A1Low group in ovarian cancer (Figure 3A,B). The gene discussed is MMP7; the disease is ovarian cancer.
