Per their findings, naïve CD4+ T cells from CD147−/− mice demonstrated low potential for differentiation into Th17 cells, in response to stimulation with IL-6 and transforming growth factor β, and that CD147 modulates the differentiation of CD4+ T cells into Th17 cells and concluded that CD147 was crucial for the development of psoriasis by inducing Th17 cell differentiation [18].
