The identification of several DEGs such as ARG1, SLC15A2, COL3A1, SVEP1, CH25H, CST7, CXCR1, IL18RAP, SORL1, and TACR1 associated with immune response regulation near HERV loci underscores the significant role of HERV-mediated regulation in dengue pathogenesis and highlight the complex interplay between immune modulation and vascular integrity in the progression of severe dengue. This evidence concerns the gene CXCR1 and dengue disease.
