While oxytocin reactivity to psychosocial stress has been reported in healthy adolescents (Bernhard et al., 2018) and adults (Alley, Diamond, Lipschitz, & Grewen, 2019; de Jong et al., 2015; Engert, Koester, Riepenhausen, & Singer, 2016; Pierrehumbert et al., 2010; Tabak et al., 2022), this study advances previous work by assessing the oxytocin stress response also in individuals with MDD. Here, OXT is linked to major depressive disorder.
