Based on the transcriptomic data of the liver of the Syrian hamster, we employed DAVID [49] to detect the pathways associated with the most highly expressed genes and found multiple pathways involved in human coronary artery disease (CAD) including the PI3K-Akt signalling, insulin resistance, chemokine signalling, fat digestion and the adipocytokine pathways. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
