The tumor suppressors that were upregulated in Acomys and downregulated in C57BL/6 mice included Sterile α motif and HD domain-containing protein 1 (Samhd1) which is significantly downregulated in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma; Fanconi anemia genes, Fancm and Fancg, involved in DNA crosslink repair; lymphotoxin beta (Ltb), an immune checkpoint gene for tumor-associated macrophages, Ikaros gene (Ikzf3) important for lymphocyte development; and interferon regulatory factor 1 (Irf-1), a negative regulator of cell proliferation (Fig. 2G). Here, IRF1 is linked to primary cutaneous T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
