MAPT and Alzheimer disease: Furthermore, Western blot analysis of hippocampal and cortical tissues across all experimental groups revealed that oral administration of gastrodin at low (50 mg/kg) and high (100 mg/kg) doses resulted in a significant decrease in the protein levels of phosphorylated tau at sites p‐S396, p‐S356, and Thr231, relative to the AD control group, in both the hippocampus and cortex (Figure 2B,C).
