Specifically, at lower doses, gastrodin appears to effectively reduce tau phosphorylation at the targeted sites, possibly due to its ability to enhance the neuroprotective signaling pathways, such as the inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase‐3 beta (GSK‐3β) and extracellular signal‐regulated kinases (ERK), both of which have been implicated in tau hyperphosphorylation in AD models [61, 62].
