Using multicellular hepatic spheroids, we previously determined that J2H-1702, a pharmacological inhibitor of 11βHSD1, relieves liver fibrosis by inhibiting pro-fibrotic gene expression and NF-κB signaling, which is triggered by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IFN-γ in mouse models of liver fibrosis [18].
