There are several biologic therapies that have been utilized to manage lupus, including anti‐BLyS (belimumab), which targets B‐lymphocyte stimulator to reduce the survival of B cells; Rituximab, an anti‐CD20 monoclonal antibody that depletes B cells; and anti‐IFN therapies, which inhibit the type I IFN pathway implicated in the pathogenesis of lupus [13, 14, 15, 16]. This evidence concerns the gene TNFSF13B and systemic lupus erythematosus.
