We did not find evidence of deficiency of innate immune cell PKH phagocytosis, so reduced efferocytosis of hepatic neutrophils, an important component of inflammation resolution [35, 64], is unlikely in APAP-ALI, despite this finding in peritonitis [26]. Therefore, the increased neutrophils in the necrotic area at 24 h APAP-ALI in Sema7a KO mice could be a result of reduced macrophage migration [35, 65]. This evidence concerns the gene SEMA7A and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
