The proportion of patients with elevated CA-125 levels at diagnosis was higher for those with high-grade serous ovarian cancer compared with all ovarian cancer histologies (93.2% vs 88.2%, respectively) and for postmenopausal compared with premenopausal status (90.2% vs 83.1%, respectively) (eTable 4 in Supplement 1). This evidence concerns the gene MUC16 and ovarian carcinoma.
