In a recent study, Shan et al. [55] demonstratedthat Stmn1 in the brain memory loop, especially the hippocampus, regulated MTstructure by phosphorylation at Ser 25 and Ser 38, and was thus involved in themediation of fear memory abnormalities in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).Therefore, animal experiments support a correlation between Stmn1 and cognitivefunctions like learning and memory, as well as related emotions like fear. This evidence concerns the gene STMN1 and post-traumatic stress disorder.
