In previous research studying the effects of 1,25-(OH)2D3 in AML differentiation, 1,25-(OH)2D3 was found to inhibit the entry of β-catenin protein into the nucleus by upregulating β-catenin–interacting protein 1 (ICAT) and then suppressing the Wnt/β-catenin signaling, inducing the differentiation of acute promyelocytic leukemia cells into a mononuclear line, with ICAT playing a pivotal role in this process [20].
