IGHE and anaphylaxis: Immunologic anaphylaxis can be classified into immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated forms, such as those triggered by food, drugs, and insect stings, and IgE-independent forms, which encompass immunoglobulin G (IgG)-dependent anaphylaxis, exemplified by high molecular weight iron dextran and the infusion of human monoclonal antibodies like infliximab, as well as complement-mediated anaphylaxis, including over sulfated chondroitin sulfate-contaminated heparin and polyethylene glycols.
