Interestingly, progression and poor prognosis of various leukemia types, such as high‐risk ALL, chronic myeloid leukemia, and AML, are associated with increased levels of IL‐1β and overexpression of NLRP3 inflammasome (reviewed in Urwanisch et al.17), and overexpression of NLRP3 and CASP1 additionally drives glucocorticoid receptor resistance in ALL cells.18 This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
