The peritonitis-afflicted animals showed raised levels of several proinflammatory proteins indicating an acute inflammation such as cell adhesion molecules EPCAM and TN-R, the chemokine CCL3 and several well-known proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-17A, IL-1A and TNF in abdominal fluid, compared to sham. This evidence concerns the gene CCL3 and peritonitis.
