In addition to its role as a negative regulator of the Nrf2 pathway, in lung adenocarcinoma, SETD6 promotes the accumulation of Nrf2 in the nucleus, augments the protein expression of Nrf2 and Nrf2 targets and downregulates Keap1, which is a negative regulator of Nrf2 (ref. 20).
