Sarcopenia is an inflammatory condition driven by proinflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress.[28] Numerous disorders associated with muscle loss have been related to IR, oxidative stress, inflammatory cytokines, and physical inactivity.[29] IR is closely related to inflammation and may be a key factor in muscle mass loss, as IR suppresses insulin’s anti-inflammatory effects, thereby potentially promoting inflammation.[30–32] The mechanisms through which insulin reduces inflammation have been studied. Here, INS is linked to sarcopenia.
