AKT1 and lung cancer: Bioinformatics analyses identified that relatively few genes were responsible for these alterations in the lung cancer cells, primarily genes within the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-Akt (PIK3R1-Akt) signaling pathway, including the negative regulator PTEN and the downstream effector FOXO3, along with cell cycle control genes (CDKN2A/1A and RB) and genes regulating mitochondrial activity (BCL2), all under the influence of TP53.
