The immunophenotype was consistent with a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML)/acute monocytic leukemia, with myeloblasts expressing CD4, CD13 (dim), CD15 (variable), CD33 (bright), CD38, CD45, CD64, CD117 (dim), HLA-DR (bright); and negative for CD2, CD3, CD5, CD7, CD8, CD14, CD34, CD56, myeloperoxidase, and B cell markers. This evidence concerns the gene CD7 and acute myeloid leukemia.
