CRP and Thrombocytopenia: In contrast, rickettsiosis was significantly associated with the presence of a rash (OR 9.06, 95% CI 3.91–24.9, p < 0.001), elevated CRP levels ≥5 mg/dL (OR 4.03, 95% CI 1.86–9.81, p < 0.001), headache (OR 3.01, 95% CI 1.75–5.30, p < 0.001), thrombocytopenia with platelet counts <150,000/mm3 (OR 2.61, 95% CI 1.23–6.06, p = 0.017), white blood cell counts <5000/mm3 (OR 1.88, 95% CI 1.19–2.98, p = 0.006), and a high fever (temperature ≥39.0 °C) (OR 1.66, 95% CI 1.03–2.68, p < 0.001).
