In another investigation examining the effect of angiopoietin-like protein 2 (Angptl2) and the role of interleukin-6 (IL-6) on the inflammatory conditions in the ligamentum flavum in the pathogenesis of lumbar spinal canal stenosis, it was demonstrated how Angptl2 impacts the pathophysiology of LSS (Figure 1). This evidence concerns the gene ANGPTL2 and Leigh syndrome.
