Further analysis of the specific effects of Mel on the anti-cancer actions of MSCs (GBM+MSC vs. GBM+MSCMel) revealed the presence of 48 specific genes that were differentially expressed (Figure S4D), which resulted in the alteration of pathways related to cadherin signaling, interleukin signaling, apoptosis, and Huntington (a pathway involved in inhibition of apoptosis via BDNF 34), among others (Figure 4J). This evidence concerns the gene CDH17 and cancer.
