GPX4 and acute kidney injury: As shown by RT-qPCR and western blot analysis, cisplatin substantially increased the expression of the key ferroptosis mediator ACSL4 and decreased GPX4 expression, thus promoting ferroptosis, while rIPC reversed the changes in ACSL4 and GPX4 levels in AKI mouse kidneys and TCMK-1 cells (Figure 2F, Figure 3G).
