One theory regarding this phenomenon is the notion of vaccine‐induced thrombosis with thrombocytopenia (VITT), which suggests that vaccine antigens may trigger an immune response against the ADAMTS13 gene, leading to the production of inhibitors against this enzyme via cross‐reactivity with polysaccharide antigens or adjuvants [10, 11]. The gene discussed is ADAMTS13; the disease is deep vein thrombosis.
