Elevated expression of SATB2 has been shown to promote EMT in HCC cells [9], induce the transformation of normal human breast mammary epithelial cells into progenitor-like cells resulting in a malignant phenotype [12], and to enhance chemoresistance of HNSCC [13] and migration and invasion in osteosarcoma [7,8]. The gene discussed is SATB2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
