Increased levels of fatty acid binding protein 7 (FABP7) are also seen in HER2-positive breast cancer BMs, and besides its role in metabolic reprogramming, FABP7 upregulates metastatic genes and pathways, such as Integrins-Src, MEK/ERK, Wnt/β-catenin, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A [40,41]. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
