Translocations, duplications, and amplifications involving HMGA1 or HMGA2 have been reported in solid tumors, myeloid malignancies, such as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and other hematologic malignancies [99,100,101,102,103,104], although such events are relatively infrequent. The gene discussed is HMGA2; the disease is myelodysplastic syndrome.
