In tests with SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells and the BV2 mouse microglial cell line in conjunction with behavioral tests, D-arabinose induced CREB regulated transcription coactivator 1 (CRTC1) expression through the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and transcription factor EB (TFEB) and also enhanced Acyl-coenzyme A synthetase short-chain family member 2 (ACSS2)-dependent CRTC1 transcription by activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) through the lysosomal AXIN-liver kinase B1 (LKB1) pathway [121]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and neuroblastoma.
