A recent study evaluated BRCA1 promoter methylation by quantitative methylation-specific PCR and demonstrated that triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation, or high BRCA1 promoter methylation, showed better 6-month PFS compared with the other patients (p = 0.009). Here, BRCA1 is linked to triple-negative breast carcinoma.
