Although no significant regulation of the epithelial marker CDH1 was detected in either SAL-treated or H2AJ KD samples, the expression levels of both mesenchymal markers CDH2 and VIM were increased by the KD of H2AJ (Figure 3B–D and Figure S6A), suggesting that H2AJ inhibits the expression of mesenchymal markers and aligns with the reduced levels of H2AJ mRNA observed for the metastatic samples of a large cohort of PCa patients (Figure 1B). Here, VIM is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
