FTH1 and cysticercosis: KEGG pathway analysis revealed that 79, 85, and 56 differentially PSC-enriched proteins (Figure 2D–F) were primarily associated with ferroptosis-related pathways, enriched with significantly differentially expressed proteins FTH1 and FTH1 associated with the Ferroptosis pathway FRIL1 (Figure S4, Tables S1–S4), indicating that the death of hepatocytes was possibly due to ferroptosis induced by intrahepatic parasitism of cysticercosis in vivo.
