Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is characterized by elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), anti-thyroid peroxidase (TPO-Ab), and anti-thyroglobulin (Tg-Ab) antibodies, accompanied by lymphocytic and plasmacytic infiltration of the thyroid parenchyma and the destruction of thyroid follicles (5, 6). This evidence concerns the gene TPO and Hashimoto thyroiditis.
