Studies have reported that CPT1A does not only play a significant role in the development of breast cancer [12], gastric cancer [13], ovarian cancer [14], lymphoma [15], vascular smooth muscle cells [10] and pulmonary fibrosis by regulating the succinylation levels of substrate targets [16] but it can also affect the cellular oxidative stress level and antioxidant capacity by regulating mitochondrial function and fatty acid metabolism, thus affecting cellular ageing [17, 18]. The gene discussed is CPT1A; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
