Studies have reported that CPT1A does not only play a significant role in the development of breast cancer [12], gastric cancer [13], ovarian cancer [14], lymphoma [15], vascular smooth muscle cells [10] and pulmonary fibrosis by regulating the succinylation levels of substrate targets [16] but it can also affect the cellular oxidative stress level and antioxidant capacity by regulating mitochondrial function and fatty acid metabolism, thus affecting cellular ageing [17, 18]. This evidence concerns the gene CPT1A and gastric cancer.
