In the context of RA, two classes of IL-6-targeted inhibitors are particularly relevant: anti-IL-6 receptor monoclonal antibodies, such as tocilizumab (TCZ; approved for RA in 2010), sarilumab (2017) and olokizumab (currently under investigation for RA), and anti-IL-6 monoclonal antibodies, such as siltuximab (2014) (7). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and rheumatoid arthritis.
