The presence of t(11,14) is usually seen in IgM, IgE, and NSMM and does not by itself confer a poor prognosis ​[11].​ The presence of translocations t(4;14), t(14,16), t(14,20), deletion del(17/17p), and gain (1q) in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma represents a high-risk disease implying poor prognosis with standard therapies ​[12]. This evidence concerns the gene CD40LG and plasma cell myeloma.
