KISS1R and ovarian dysfunction: Indeed, expression of the Kiss1 receptor has been detected in the ovary of several species (Saadeldin et al. 2012, Dorfman et al. 2014, Cielesh et al. 2017) and oocyte-selective ablation of Kiss1R leads to ovarian failure without significant effect on puberty onset (Dorfman et al. 2014, Ruohonen et al. 2022).
