In a meta-analysis of 233 clinical trials published between 2004 and 2017 looking at 147,710 type 2 diabetic patients and nine treatments - two incretin-based therapies, one placebo, and six traditional antidiabetic drugs (metformin, insulin, sulfonylurea, thiazolidinediones, alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, and sodium-glucose co-transporter 2) - GLP-1 RA use increased dizziness risk when compared to insulin and placebo with an odds ratio of 2.06 and 1.39 [47]. The gene discussed is GLP1R; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
