Recent studies have indicated that during sepsis, the activity of hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha (HNF4α) in the liver diminishes, resulting in the downregulation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), metabolic complications, and dysregulation of the IL6-mediated acute phase response (Van Dender et al., 2024). This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and Sepsis.
