Table 1 summarizes the basic characteristics of the study population, divided into two age groups: under 65 years and 65 years and over. The total sample size was 36,684, with 27,841 participants under the age of 65 and 8,843 participants aged 65 and over. Statistical results indicate significant differences between the groups in age, racial composition, BMI, liver function markers (ALT and AST), history of hypertension and diabetes, and smoking and drinking habits (all P < 0.001).
