GLP-1R agonists are known to modify appetite and satiety and can lead to weight loss, and some GLP-1R agonists, such as semaglutide, are used as treatments for obesity.45 However, we observed no differences in weight between animals receiving exenatide versus vehicle, suggesting that the reduction in ICP is unlikely to be explained by weight loss. This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
