NLRP3 and atherosclerosis: Among several acquired somatic mutations in leukemogenic genes (in particular e.g. ten eleven translocation 2 (TET2), DNA methyltransferase 3 A (DNMT3A), additional sex combs‐like 1 (ASXL1) or Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)), causing a clonal expansion of haematopoietic cells, TET2 and DNMT3A represent not only the most commonly identified mutated genes associated with CHIP but also mutations, which are mostly related to an accelerated atherosclerosis due to NLRP3 inflammasome activation.37, 38
