AFP and neoplasm: The efficacy of this combination therapy is assessed using the definition of “clinical complete response (CR)” [22], which is characterized by (1) achieving CR according to mRECIST by contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT)/Gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and (2) a reduction in three tumor markers—alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), AFP-L3 fraction, and des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin (DCP)—within normal range for at least 6 weeks.
