Univariable regression showed that older age [odds ratio [OR]: 2, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.2–3.8, p = 0.02], females (OR: 2.2, 95% CI: 1.2–4.1, p = 0.01), DM (OR: 2.3, 95% CI: 1.2–4.2, p = 0.004), CCF (OR: 3.1, 95% CI: 1.5–5.7, p = 0.01) and a higher CHA2DS2-VASc score (OR: 2, 95% CI: 1.6–2.5, p < 0.001) were associated with positive AF screening. This evidence concerns the gene PITX1 and atrial fibrillation.
