MSI2 and cancer: Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) further revealed that Msi2+ cells are significantly enriched for signatures related to developmental and stem cell signaling, consistent with the known role of Msi2 as a critical regulator of the stem cell state (Okano et al., 2002; Hope et al., 2010; Kharas et al., 2010), as well as signatures related to oncogenic signaling and therapy resistance (Figure 2—figure supplement 1B–D) which are associated with aggressive cancers.
