TP53 and liposarcoma: In liposarcoma (LPS) cells, treatment with Nutlin-3A (an MDM2-p53 interaction inhibitor) stabilizes p53 but also increases chromatin-bound MDM2, enhancing the expression of genes related to amino acid metabolism and promoting oncogenic activity, which may explain the poor clinical efficacy of these inhibitors (Cissé et al., 2020).
